Preparing for childbirth

Preparing for childbirth

Childbirth Preparedness Class

Two sessions

These sessions will focus on the important issues that expectant parents face in preparation of their new baby. Expert information will be provided by a UHealth Physician (obstetrician) and nurse to inform expectant parents and support persons about pregnancy, labor and delivery, and anesthesia options. This class is designed to be taken during the last trimester (last 8-12 weeks) of the pregnancy, with one support person attending with mother, if able. An optional tour of the delivery suites will be provided after this class session if parents are expecting to deliver their baby with one of our UHealth Obstetricians at the Women’s Hospital Center at Jackson Memorial Hospital. UM physicians will also be delivering at Mount Sinai in the future.
